A North Carolina man is facing DWI charges after a golf cart accident left one woman dead in Holly Springs, NC, on Friday night, June 11.
Authorities say the accident happened in the 12 Oaks community in Holly Springs. Jeremy Rollins Martin, 43, who lives in Holly Springs, was driving a golf cart with a female passenger. The cart crashed in a single-vehicle accident, and emergency crews were called to the scene. They found the passenger critically injured and rushed her to a local hospital, where she, unfortunately, died from her injuries.
Martin was later charged with DWI for the crash.
Although people tend to think of golf carts as a safer option than a car for impaired driving, the fact is that golf cart crashes can still cause serious injuries for people riding in the carts. If you’ve had a little too much to drink, it’s best not to drive any kind of vehicle.
