Getting a Copy of Your Police Accident Report

If you have been involved in an accident in Anderson, one of the most critical pieces of evidence you will need is a copy of your police accident report. The Investigating Officer will generally have made notes as to the party, or parties, who contributed to the accident. There will usually be a diagram of a street intersection for the Officer to indicate just where the vehicles collided, and a vehicle outline to mark the damaged areas.

The Anderson Police Department Records Division will help you to locate your Police Accident Report. There is no charge for involved parties (at-fault or not), although there is an $8.50 fee for outside requests. Please note that if the accident took place on the Interstate, you have different instructions in the By Mail section below.

Online

Though you may not obtain your Police Accident Report online, the Anderson Police Department maintains its own website, with lots of local information, Q&A’s, a community tip line, a link to the South Carolina Code of Laws, ticket payments, and event announcements.

By Phone

You may call the Anderson Police Department at (864) 231-2272, and ask for the Records Division. Any relevant information, such as your case number, will be helpful to the records officer assisting you on your call. Note: You may have a friend or relative pick up the report on your behalf, after making this arrangement with the records officer.
