The information provided on this page is intended to clarify the most expeditious methods for obtaining a copy of your Police Accident Report for the city of Camden, South Carolina. If we can help to interpret and answer any questions you may have about your report, please contact Auger & Auger for a free consultation at 803-470-5298! Reports are only provided to individuals directly involved in an accident. We do not provide reports to third parties such as attorneys, or insurance carriers.
One document you will want to have for your records is the Police Accident Report; a compilation of the Investigating Officer’s findings. This report is filed electronically and requires your participation to get a copy. There may be notations listing contributors to the accident, as well as a diagram or drawing visually defining the point of impact and any visible vehicle damages.
The Records Division of the Camden Police Department has provided us with the following details and points of contact to assist in the acquisition of your Police Accident Report. You will find specific instructions within the In-Person and By Mail sections.
There is no fee charged to the victim of the accident, while a $5.00 fee is required from uninvolved parties. The clerk will need the accident location and date from you.
At the time of your request, parties other than the victim may be asked to fill out a Freedom of Information Act FOIA Request Form. There are instructions as well as a City of Camden FOIA form on the website, which you may complete, sign, and date; then fax or bring to the department in person. Uninvolved parties may only be allowed a redacted copy (at the discretion of the Records Officer).
The website pages include the community services descriptions, as well as victim’s advocate services with contact information for all categories.
Camden’s Records department suggests calling ahead in order that they may begin the research prior to your visit.
Phone: (803) 425-6025
You may call ahead to allow the clerk time to locate the information prior to your coming in for the report. Please provide the date of accident, location, name, and contact number.
