One of the first things you will want to obtain after you have been involved in a car accident in North Carolina is the police accident report. The car wreck report will have information identifying the insurance carriers, witnesses, estimated vehicle damage and a diagram of the accident scene.

The Trooper’s Codes Determining Fault

Although they do not like to tell you, the State Troopers do in fact determine fault and place it on the accident report. However, the codes are discretely located in boxes along the ride side of the page and only identifiable if you have the corresponding code sheet.  This is the first thing the insurance carriers look at when determining fault. We can help you locate this information on the crash report when you call our office for a copy of your report.

We have an account with the NC State Highway Patrol for easy access to our client’s motor vehicle accident reports. If you call us, we will not only look up your report for you, but we will provide a free consultation and information that you will need in pursuing your claim.
