as suggested by fellow biker and our lead motorcycle attorney, Herb Auger:
Huger Loop – The perfect 2-hour road trip with low traffic and plenty of nice stops. Start from Mt. Pleasant and take this pleasant 94 miles ride through the scenic backroads of the Francis Marion Forest.
Ashley River Road Scenic Byway – Take a laid back 11 mile trip along Route 61, which narrows to 2-lanes as you reach the Historic District of Ashley River. The ride takes you through arched trees, charming villages, past orchards plantations, and over Lake Keowee.
Caesar’s Head – Panoramic views of Upstate South Carolina are visible in the fall and winter when the thick forest foliage sheds its leaves. “A twisty driver’s delight.” Take Highway 11 off the 276 in Cleveland to Caesars Head State Park. Ride to the summit, or stop for a hike and a waterfall dip.
Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway – Tucked in the Northwest corner of South Carolina, the 112 miles of highway follows an ancient Cherokee path they named “The Great Blue Hills of God.” Cross over Lake Keowee and ride past Cowpen National Battlefield, waterfalls and forests. An ideal route with twists and turns climbs, and dives and the room to enjoy them.
Low Country Beach Loop – Beach lovers will relish this 12-mile route with saltwater marshes, aquatic birds, big ships (including the WWII aircraft carrier USS Yorktown), and the historic beach inlets of Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms.
