A North Augusta man died on Wednesday, September 3, after being struck by a pickup truck in his own yard.
Authorities say the accident happened around 7 PM, in a North Augusta neighborhood south of Lexington. Morales, 42, was in his yard doing yard work when a pickup truck veered off the right side of Belvedere-Clearwater Road, near the Duncan Road intersection. The truck hit Morales, then struck a utility pole, where it came to a stop. Morales was rushed to an area hospital, where he sadly died of his injuries.
The driver was also taken to the hospital with injuries.
