Florence Police Accident Reports

When a serious accident takes place, an Investigating Officer will be called to the scene. Among their duties is the responsibility to compile essential evidence which will become the official Police Accident Report. This report will typically include notes listing contributors to the accident, as well as a drawing or graphic showing the point of impact and visible vehicle damages. Once it is filed electronically, your request is required to procure a copy.

If we can further help to interpret or answer any questions you may have about your report, please contact Auger & Auger Accident and Injury Lawyers for a free consultation at (851) 971-1114. Reports are only provided to individuals directly involved in an accident. We do not provide reports to third parties such as attorneys, or insurance carriers. The information we are sharing with you on this resource page includes detailed instructions for requesting your Florence Police Accident Report.

How to Obtain Your Florence Police Accident Report

We have spoken with the Records Unit of the Florence Police Department in order to provide you with the following details and points of contact to initiate the acquisition of your Police Accident Report. There are specific instructions within each method-of-access section below.

In Florence, there is no request fee for victims of the accident. The fees for a request from the subject of the cause or uninvolved parties are $3.00 in person and $4.00 if delivered by mail, fax or email.

If you are requesting more extensive research or materials such as videos, you may be asked to provide a Freedom of Information Act FOIA Request Form. These will be available at the Records Unit, or you may download this Florence County FOIA Form and mail it as described below or bring with you in person to Records. Please note: uninvolved parties may only be allowed a redacted copy at the discretion of the Records Officer.

Note: For Interstate accident reports, see specific instructions to request your report from the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles in the By Mail section.
