Auger & Auger obtains $900,000 settlement in tractor-trailer case
Attorneys Hunter Gillespie and Herb Auger recently obtained a $900,000 settlement for a local veteran who suffered life-changing injuries after being thrown from his vehicle in a tractor-trailer accident.
Our client, an elderly man who served during the Vietnam War, was ejected from his convertible when a tractor-trailer traveling at 60 miles per hour rear-ended him on Interstate 85. The man underwent emergency surgery and was treated for multiple facial and rib fractures.
Although making a strong physical recovery, the man was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and short-term memory issues. The defense argued that the PTSD and memory loss were pre-existing conditions associated with the man’s age; however, Attorneys Gillespie and Auger successfully proved the correlations between the accident and the lingering trauma.
